30 October 2026 • Written by VRC

Kath Power and Prue Webb bring decades of fashion and retail experience to The Wardrobe Edit, the Melbourne styling service they founded on a “buy once, buy well” philosophy. Their clients and collaborators include David Jones, Chadstone, Clarins, Decjuba, and Airbnb.

Judging: Best Dressed, Oaks Day

What will you be looking for in entrants?

As judges this year, we’ll look for personal style, individuality, and a thoughtful approach to dressing. We’re thrilled to see fashion moving beyond minimalism and uniformity to embrace colour, texture and embellishment. Fashions on the Field has always been a platform for celebrating these elements, and we’re excited to see how the 2026 entrants interpret them in their own unique way.

What do you love most about Fashions on the Field?

We love that Fashions on the Field is such an iconic, long-standing national competition that celebrates fashion, creativity, individuality, and tradition, while continuing to evolve with the times. This year, the introduction of a new category, The Remix presented by Rack It Club, celebrates a fresh approach to race-day style, putting creativity, individuality, and now conscious fashion at centre stage. This ethos aligns strongly with our values, making it an exciting addition to the competition.

Any advice for anyone thinking of entering?

Attention to detail and a considered approach to race-day dressing are so important. Racewear has its own unique style and traditions, so it’s worth considering the occasion, the theme of the day, and the overall feel you want to convey. Above all, choose an outfit that reflects your personal style and individuality. When a look feels authentic to you, it really shines.

Your next great race-day look could already be in your wardrobe.

Give pre-loved fashion its moment in the spotlight at Fashions on the Field: The Remix, presented by Rack It Club, on TAB Champions Stakes Day, Saturday 7 November. With two categories – Best Dressed: The Remix and Best Suited: The Remix.

Rewear, rework or restyle a look that tells your story, then take to the stage and show Flemington how it’s done.
