Celebrating 20 years of an incredible journey!

The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour is one of the most important initiatives of the Victoria Racing Club and in 2022 celebrated 20 wonderful years of touring Australia and the world.

Since the tour’s inception in 2003, the three-handled Cup has travelled far and wide across Australia and the world, travelling over 760,000 kilometres, visiting more than 560 destinations, engaging with tens of thousands of people and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local fundraising initiatives.

$50,000 National Sweep

$50,000 National Sweep

The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep saw 24 rural and regional tour destinations across Australia be allocated a barrier for the 2022 Lexus Melbourne Cup.

The town that drew the barrier of the Lexus Melbourne Cup-winning horse will be presented with a cash prize of $50,000 to put towards a charity for a local community initiative.

2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour

National Sweep Winner - Bendigo and Fosterville, VIC

Bendigo and Fosterville combined forces as a Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour destination and drew barrier 19 to be allocated the Chris Waller trained Verry Elleegant and subsequently win the sweep.

The $50,000 will go towards Sunshine Bendigo, a not-for-profit community organisation helping families with young children in the Bendigo and Central Victoria area who are experiencing challenging times.

Kirkland Lake Gold’s General Manager of Fosterville Gold Mine, Lance Faulkner said the communities were over the moon with the result.
