Applications to host this year’s tour are now open, with destinations across the world invited to share in the magic of the People’s Cup.

The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour is a key initiative of the VRC, and since its launch in 2003, the iconic three-handled Cup has journeyed across Australia and the world. Covering over one million kilometres, it has visited more than 680 destinations, connected with tens of thousands of people, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local fundraising efforts.

If you are a rural or regional destination in Australia, you could be selected for the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep for the 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup. If your community draws the barrier of the winning horse in The Race That Stop the Nation™, you’ll receive $50,000 to support a local charity of your choice.

If your selected to be a part of The Cup Tour, your community will have the rare opportunity to host the Lexus Melbourne Cup! Plan a special event or have The Cup visit a local school or organisation, it's a great opportunity to show off your community on a national scale!

Your community could host a legendary figure from the world of racing. Cup Tour Ambassadors travel with The Cup share their remarkable Melbourne Cup stories, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone. 

Successful 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour submissions will be announced in June, with the tour officially commencing its journey in July.
