How to enter FOTF

For the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival, Fashions on the Field invites fashion enthusiasts globally to showcase their style. The Best Dressed and Best Suited categories are open to anyone aged 18 and over, with no gender alignment, and entries are accepted both online and on-course.

Digital submissions are now open and they close on Friday, October 4, while on-course entries will be accepted from 2-7 November, with winners announced on Crown Oaks Day.

Additionally, the Emerging Designer Award, presented by Vogue Australia, is open to national entrants only and requires online submissions, with finalists presenting on Penfolds Victoria Derby Day. For those with a passion for millinery, the Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award is open to both national and international participants, with online entries closing on October 4 and finalists showcasing their designs on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.

FOTF Prizes and Awards

The Melbourne Cup Carnival isn’t just about racing; it’s a celebration of fashion, creativity and style. At the heart of this glamorous event are the Best Dressed and Best Suited categories, where both international and national entrants compete for the ultimate accolade. Winners of the digital competition are awarded a luxurious VIP Melbourne Cup Carnival Experience, including flights to Melbourne, a stay at the iconic Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, exclusive invitations and VRC Members Enclosure access to Lexus Melbourne Cup Day and Crown Oaks Day. The total prize pool for each category is valued up to an astounding $111,640, with first-prize winners taking home prizes to the value of $34,600, including $20,000 in cash.

The Emerging Designer Award celebrates the rising stars of fashion design. With a prize pool valued at up to $78,250, the top designer will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Design Immersive Experience in Japan, valued at $25,000, in partnership with Vogue Australia.

For those with a passion for millinery, the Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award offers a total prize pool of $68,550, with the first prize valued at $37,650 including an editorial page in Vogue Australia. Finalists will also receive access to the VRC Members Enclosure on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.
