From Victoria, Rhiannon Gardiner impressed the crowd in a couture-style creation designed and crafted with her mother, Maree. Inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s feathered couture, the grey gown featured over 1,500 hand-stitched and glued feathers, complemented by an Allport Millinery headpiece. Her emerald-green shoes, bag, and millinery accents added a vibrant pop of colour. “Mum did an incredible job attaching all the feathers,” Rhiannon said.
Carle Rutledge of Essendon embraced bold glamour in a custom red Mariam Seddiq gown, featuring a structured mini cape, paired with Dolce & Gabbana floral heels and a coordinating handbag – which inspired the overall look – and a Jill Humphries sculptural headpiece. “It’s my favourite time of year,” said the construction project manager and mother.
“It’s creative, expressive, and a chance to connect with amazing women who share that love of fashion.”
From Perth, Elizabeth Winlo brought lively movement to the runway in a colourful, joyful dress that shimmered as she walked. Styled with a custom piece by milliner Kim Wiebenga, Elizabeth’s look embodied playfulness and confidence. A long-standing Fashions on the Field entrant, she said,
“I’ve been entering for about 15 years – it’s such a wonderful way to express creativity.”
