Global music icon Robbie Williams to light up Flemington on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day

Flemington will host Robbie Williams’ first Australian performance ahead of his BRITPOP World Tour starting in Adelaide on 7 November.  Racegoers can revel in an energetic performance from the ultimate showman who promises an unforgettable stage show including global smash hits Let Me Entertain You, Angels and She’s the One after the last race on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day. Robbie’s Lexus Melbourne Cup Day performance is included in the price of a General Admission entry ticket. 

Robbie will also amplify the crowd and build excitement with a special live performance in the Mounting Yard as part of the Nine Broadcast ahead of the arrival of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Trophy, just prior to the race that stops a nation®. This will be the biggest pre‑Cup performance ever staged at Flemington, with Robbie delivering a host of his biggest hits alongside a full cast of backup dancers to supercharge the atmosphere.

As the best‑selling British solo artist of all time, he has achieved a record breaking sixteen number one albums in the UK.  His achievements underscore a career defined by global impact, chart‑topping success and a reputation as one of the most dynamic live performers of his generation.

VRC Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers said welcoming Robbie Williams to Flemington for the first time was an exceptional fit to celebrate Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.

Robbie Williams is thrilled to be returning to Australia in November and performing for the first time at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“Australia, I’m coming in hot. Lexus Melbourne Cup Day will be my first stop before the BRITPOP Australian Tour, and I’m ready to make it unforgettable. Expect big songs, big energy and a massive celebration after the race that stops the nation.” Robbie Williams said.

Located at the end of the Flemington straight, just past the winning post, The Elms Live Stage, presented by Maccas, has become the centrepiece of the Carnival’s headline music program.  Here, major headline performers, including Robbie Williams and FISHER on TAB Champions Stakes Day, will take to the Stage and racegoers can enjoy all the action for the price of a General Admission entry ticket.
