Tough staying contest - they take their turns a bit. THE WESTERN FRONT (5) was solid a strongly run Ramsden here two back behind Zakouma, bouncing back out to the two miles to win the Sandown Cup in a tough effort last start. Back in trip here should be fine and he'll take beating again. TEMPESTI (2) was fourth in the Sandown Cup and only beaten 2.5 lengths, meeting the winner 3kg better off for that defeat. Mott on is another tick and he should take holding out. ALDER (4) beat Tempesti home in the Warrnambool Cup as favourite two back which ties in although he was poor last start. BOLD SOUL (1) should be ready to peak third up out to his bread and butter trip where he's won 2/3 and finished 2nd in the other. Keeping safe. VIRTUOUS CIRCLE (3) is going better than the form guide reads but really struggles to win.
