Tough 2yo race to kick off proceedings. INSOLENCE (13) might be one at a bit of a price that can run well, a nicely bred colt for Godolphin who closed off strongly first up in a good maiden at Geelong, posting some sharp late splits to miss by a head. Up in trip should suit nicely now and the bar isn't set that high. FONTEIN JEWEL (1) has had more race experience than most of these, a smart maiden winner two back before charging home to just miss in the good 2yo race at Swan Hill. He'll take holding out. PORTARLINGTON (2) is racing well without winning, worried out of it by one with 8kg less last time when heavily backed. He should get his chance to run out the trip from the inside gate. STAR OF MACEDON (4) was heavily backed at Caulfield last time on the day where they got very wide. Can forgive that, he can atone. SATONO'S SHOUT (9) has been solid in two runs to date and can figure each way
