Another competitive race. AL DUCA (5) is an interesting one, off a let up here with seven weeks between runs having last been seen finishing down the track in the Golden Mile at Bendigo. He raced very wide there on a good speed and was eased down but the two wins prior on wet ground rated well enough to win this. If he's been kept up to peak fitness he can bounce back. The old marvel JIMMY THE BEAR (2) won this race last year en route to Winter Championship Finals glory and is well placed to go back to back. He got to the right lanes at Caulfield but won well and will be very hard to hold out again. He beat Cartoon Graveyard there who has since won the Swan Hill Cup where SEAFALL (12) was a narrow sixth. She'd won two nicely prior and is in the mix. SEE THAT STORM (13) was a noted drifter at his local debut in the race won by Jimmy The Bear and never looked comfortable. Conditions key with him - he wants it dry. PUNCH LANE (4) can peak up to a mile and sets up nicely.

Still early in the prep and might need more time.
Third-up today and won third-up in the past. Resuming ran second last of 10 at Caulfield Bm100 on May 9 over 1440m, slow going 3 len behind Brave One with 58.5kg at $21. Second-up settled well back; won by a nose at Caulfield Hcp May 30 over 1600m in heavy going defeating Cartoon Graveyard carrying 58kg at $8. Class gelding who won this last year and hits it in similar form.
Gelding back from a spell of four-and-a-half months. Has placed previously first up from a break. Finished off last preparation fourth of 10 at this track Hcp February 14 over 2500m, 1.2 len behind Berkeley Square with 59kg at $2.25. When resuming last campaign second of 12 at Seymour in the LR Seym Cup October 12 over 1600m, a long neck behind Cote Atlantique carrying 56kg at $13. Talented gelding who could be sharp enough fresh.

Building nicely and gets a good scenario here.

The run before that favourite; won by a head at Caulfield LR Anniv Vase April 11 over 1600m on a rain affected track defeating Taken with 54kg at $3.50. Gets his conditions and can bounce right back.
